Websites for electrical wholesalers

This is the one I have already built, for a wholesaler who had been trading for years on phone calls and a price-list PDF.

What happened at Santosh Electricals

Santosh Electricals, a Chennai electrical wholesaler, launched a catalogue site covering 2,000+ products across 14 authorised brands. It returned ₹4,00,000 in organic revenue within 10 days of go-live, before a rupee of paid marketing.

The mechanism is boring and repeatable: 1,479 indexed URLs across five sitemaps — one page per product, per dealer, per location. An electrician searching a specific switchgear part number at 10pm finds the page, sees the price band, and sends a WhatsApp enquiry that is waiting in the morning.

Why electrical distribution suits this exactly

Long SKU tails, part numbers customers search verbatim, brand authorisations worth advertising, and buyers who are on site with a phone rather than at a desk. Every one of those is a structural advantage for a catalogue site and a structural disadvantage for a brochure.

The BoQ flow matters more than anything cosmetic. A contractor pricing a job wants to send a list and get a quotation back — not fill in a contact form and wait for a callback that decides the order went elsewhere.

What the build includes for this trade

Product catalogue with brand and category filtering, dealer locator pages, a BoQ-to-quotation flow over WhatsApp, trade calculators (cable sizing, load estimation), price-band display that protects your margin without hiding information, and per-brand landing pages for the authorisations you hold.

Common questions

Will publishing prices online destroy my margin?
No, and Santosh Electricals was worried about exactly this. The build shows price bands and indicative rates rather than your final negotiated numbers — enough for a buyer to qualify themselves, not enough for a competitor to undercut you line by line. Enquiry quality went up because unqualified buyers filtered themselves out before calling.
I have 2,000 products in a PDF price list. Is that a problem?
That is the normal starting point. Extraction from price-list PDFs into structured product data is part of the build — the Santosh catalogue came out of nine separate price-list PDFs.
How long before I see enquiries?
Santosh Electricals saw revenue inside 10 days. That is faster than typical and depended on having a large catalogue indexed at once. Expect the first organic enquiries in weeks, and the compounding effect over three to six months.

Describe the problem in your own words.

No technical language needed. I reply personally within 24 hours. Most engagements start with a ₹35,000 Diagnostic Sprint, credited in full against the project if you proceed within 30 days.
